Steak Bites Grocery List
To experiment with steak bites, the Cosori Air Fryer does the job pretty well. Here is a short list of everything needed to make delicious steak bites.
For the steak:
Thick-cut ribeye steak: A delicious cut of meat is everything for steak. Every ribeye calls for good marbling, and if given properly, will provide the most juicy bits. Every steak lover will tell you ribeye is great, but a sirloin will do just fine. Stay away from cheaper cuts that require a lot of time to become softer.
Olive oil: Do not attempt using cooking oil sprays on the air fryer because these non-stick sprays can actually ruin the air fryer’s coating. A reusable aerosol bottle filled with olive oil works just fine.

For the seasoning:
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Brown sugar or Sukrin Gold sweetener
- Cajun seasoning (mild)
- Sweet smoked paprika
- Dried parsley
For the garlic butter:
Softened butter mixed with the seasoning blend. For an extra garlicky boost, a minced garlic clove may also be added.
Steps to Prepare Air Fryer Garlic Butter Steak Bites
- Getting the steak ready: The steak is cut into equal-sized cubes. Drizzle some oil on them, or use a spray bottle for even coverage.
- Season the cubes: The remaining seasoning mixture, after set aside, can be combined with softened butter. For a seasoned steak, sprinkle over the cubes generously for an even coat.
- Preheat your air fryer: Your air fryer should be set to 400ºF and activated for 5 minutes. Don’t skip this step. This step helps sear the best with your steak for the first 3-5 seconds of the cook.
- Completely cook the steak shots: Stake cubes should be arranged evenly and in a single layer, so there’s no overcrowding in the air fryer basket. Cook while shaking the basket mid-way to 3-5 minutes for even fashion cooking. The short cooking time allows the brown, juicy tender flavor, especially on the inside.
- Add Garlic Butter: Once the steak bites are done, cover them in the garlic butter and serve. You can put the butter on the steak as soon as you take it out of the air fryer, or you can melt it in a pan and add it later when serving.

Serving Suggestions
Air Fryer Steak Bites can be enjoyed with smashed potatoes, grilled corn, avocado salad, rice or even fries. In my case, they mostly disappear into my family’s mouths even before I get to serve them – that’s how delicious they are!
Recipe Tips
Different Cuts of Steak: Depending on which part of the globe you are in, there will always be different names given to different steak cuts. If in doubt, seek out a steak cuts reference for assistance.
Add Seasoning as you Prefer: If you like, you can opt for some ready mixed steak seasoning such as Montreal Steak or Old Bay.
Steak Bites are Best Served Fresh: Steak bites are best enjoyed fresh so serve them straight off the skillet. If there are any bites left, they can be put in a container, covered and stored in the refrigerator for three days. To reheat, put them in the air fryer at 350F or 180C for two to three minutes to retain the flavor and texture.
Overfill the air fryer: Single layer cooking of the steak bites allows them to get an even cook as well as the best texture. Doing this will result in overcooked steak.
How Do You Know If Your Steak Is Done
Depending on how well seasoned you want it and the model for the air fryer that you have, the cooking durations may differ. The meat thermometer always gives the best results regarding precision- for me personally, I use the Thermapen. Here’s a quick reference guide to steak cooking temperatures:
Doneness Temperature (°F) Temperature (°C)
Medium Rare 130–135°F 54–57°C
Medium 135–145°F 57–63°C
Medium Well 145–155°F 63–68°C
Well Done 155°F+ 68°C+
Steak is most tender when it is medium to medium rare. Attempting to cook steak further often leads to a more leathery and chewy texture, which no one prefers.

kcalCrispy, juicy air fryer steak bites cooked to perfection in minutes – a quick and flavorful meal or snack that’s sure to satisfy every craving!
Ingredients
For the Steak Bites
16 oz (450g) thick-cut ribeye or sirloin steak
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Cajun seasoning (mild)
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp sweet paprika
2 tsp Sukrin Gold or brown sugar
½ tsp salt
For the garlic butter
3 tbsp unsalted butter , softened
To serve
Fresh thyme leaves
pinch crushed chilli flakes
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Cut the steak into approximately equal squares. Coat the meat with olive oil by either drizzling it or using a spray bottle. Then mix all the spices together thoroughly and sprinkle the seasoning over the steak cubes.
- Combine the softened butter with the remaining seasoning mix, and set aside.
- In this phase, we need to place the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. This action is necessary to make sure the steak bites sizzle immediately after making contact with the basket.
- Place the meat in a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 4-6 minutes, shaking the basket once. The short cooking time for the steak bites ensures an inside that’s still juicy and tender while being brown on the outside.
- As soon as the beef is out of the fryer, pour the melted garlicky butter on top of the steak or for added flavor, melt the butter in a saucepan, cut the steak into pieces, and drizzle it over the beef.
- Finally, enjoy the food while garnishing with fresh thyme leaves and sprinkling chili flakes.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for doneness:
Medium Rare (130-135°F), Medium (135-145°F). - Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for even cooking.
- Best served fresh; store leftovers for 3 days and reheat at 350°F for 2-3 mins.
